Context and Brand
HM Hospitals is one of Spain’s leading private healthcare networks, serving millions of patients annually across multiple specialized centers. In line with the company’s strategic goal of digital transformation, a comprehensive redesign of their patient app was undertaken. This process involved employing heuristic analysis, conducting in-depth user interviews, and implementing card sorting sessions to redefine the app’s information architecture and redesign several key screens, making the app more intuitive and closely aligned with patient needs.
Improvements and Impact
To unify design standards and streamline the development workflow, a dedicated Design System called Salus+ was created for HM Hospitals. Built on core design principles and the Atomic Design methodology, Salus+ enables improvements in key user flows—such as booking medical appointments—delivering an excellent and consistent service experience to patients. This systematic approach has significantly enhanced app usability and strengthened the connection between patients and the hospital network.
